Our product development team has been busy with some major updates, and while they're still well underway, there are a few smaller improvements that we're excited to showcase. With the latest updates, rental businesses will be able to operate with more flexibility thanks to the delivery-only option, while the updated check-in process will help avoid any overbookings.
With the new delivery-only option, merchants can hide the store pickup option in their online store, making purchases and rentals only available to be delivered.
The new update means that Twice is now fully customizable to support the delivery-based rental model. This allows businesses with no physical location to handle and manage all orders and deliveries entirely through Twice.
While the update supports businesses that operate in delivery-only mode, it also makes it easier to create things like seasonal delivery options. Once they’re not relevant anymore, the delivery option can be easily hidden and set visible again when needed.
→ With the delivery feature enabled, you can hide the store pickup via Store settings > Channels > Browsing mode.
Check-in kiosks are now better connected to Twice's backend and calculate the product availabilities in real time. The improved check-in also allows your customers to choose product variants themselves.
Before, the check-in channel worked as a way to speed up customer service and order collection in the store with walk-in customers - leaving things like product availability and variants to be handled at the counter. While this brought flexibility to handling larger crowds of walk-in customers, the risk of fully booked products or overbookings caused by check-ins still remained.
The update helps ensure that check-in bookings won’t cause any overbookings and that the orders coming from the check-in already have the exact product variants selected. We also made some additional improvements to the general user flow to make the check-in experience even better.
