Adding and deleting products from an existing order

Efficiently managing existing orders is crucial for businesses operating rentals and subscriptions. This guide will show you how to add or delete products from orders to accommodate customer needs and maintain accurate inventory records

Adding and removing products from an order is a fairly common situation for rental companies and making it easy is one of the main tasks of rental software.

Adding Products to an Order

  1. Access the Order
    • Navigate to your Orders view
    • Select the order you want to modify from either "Upcoming" or "Active" orders
    • Click on the specific customer card where you want to add products
  2. Add New Products
    • Click the "Add Products" button within the customer card
    • Use the search bar to find products by name, or use category filters
    • Select the desired products
    • For orders with multiple customers, switch between customer cards using the name panel on the right to assign products to the right person
    • Click "Update Order" to save changes
  3. Using Barcode Scanner (Optional)
    • Select the relevant customer card
    • Scan the product's barcode
    • If the product isn't in the order, confirm the addition in the popup dialog
    • For product packages, choose between adding a single item or the complete package
    • Click "Add Product" to confirm

Deleting Products from an Order

For Upcoming Orders

  • Open the order
  • Within the customer card, select the products to remove
  • Click "Delete"

For Active Orders

  • Products can only be marked as "Returned" (not deleted)
  • Select the products to return
  • Click "Return"
  • Handle any necessary refunds separately

Limitations

You cannot modify products in:

  • Subscription orders
  • Sales orders
  • Completed orders
  • Delivery orders

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If you can't find a product, verify it's available in your inventory
  • To remove the last product from a customer card, add a new product first or remove the entire customer
  • For payment adjustments after modifications, handle additional charges or refunds manually
