TWICE Payments is our integrated payment solution designed specifically for recommerce businesses, enabling smooth transactions across rentals, subscriptions, and resale operations. This guide will walk you through the setup process to start accepting payments with TWICE Payments.

Setup Process

  1. Log into your TWICE Admin and navigate to Settings > Payments
  2. Click 'Complete Setup'. Your initial information will be pre-filled based on the details you provided when creating your TWICE account, but you can make changes if necessary.
  3. Review your pre-filled business information and update any incorrect details.

1. Enter Your Business Details

  • Business Name: Enter the legal name of your business.
  • Email: Specify your business email.
  • Country: Select the country where your business is registered.
  • Currency: Set the currency in which you accept payments. It's important to note that the currency must match the geographical location of your business as registered in your TWICE settings.

Continue to Verification:

Confirm that you do not sell any prohibited or restricted products or services, and click Continue to Verification. You will be redirected to our payment processing partner, Adyen N.V., to complete the verification.

2. Complete Verification

Fill in every required information until all three sections have a green "verified" checkmark and no errors indicate missing or incorrect information. You'll need to verify three key areas:

Business Details

  • Legal business name (if different: Doing Business as)
  • Company registration/tax numbers
  • Business phone, email, and address
  • Supporting documentation

Decision-Makers

  • Enter details for all company owners and at least one signatory (note: one person can hold multiple roles).
  • Provide personal details such as name, date of birth, address, email, and phone number for each.
  • Upload an ID document for identity verification.

Banking Information

  • Specify details for the bank account that will receive your payouts.
  • Include the name on the bank account, the country, the currency code, and IBAN.
  • Upload a bank document to verify this account.

3. Account Activation

  • Submit all required information
  • Verification typically takes one business day
  • You can accept payments immediately, but payouts are held until verification is complete

Check Account → Payments to confirm "Active" status

4. Enable Payment Methods

  1. Go to Account → Payments
  2. Toggle on desired payment methods

FAQ

Why Is Apple Pay Not Available in My Checkout?

Apple Pay is designed to work exclusively on Apple devices. Therefore, if you or your customers use non-Apple devices like Windows laptops or Android phones, Apple Pay will not be available as a payment option during checkout. Additionally, Apple Pay is not supported in embedded TWICE stores.

Why Is Google Pay Not Available in My Checkout?

Google Pay is not currently supported in TWICE stores using their custom domain due to limitations imposed by Google. This restriction is specific to stores using their custom domains and does not affect Google Pay usage on the [twice.shop/](http://twice.shop/)... domain.

How Can I Avoid Account Suspension?

Timing is crucial. To comply with payment industry regulations, your account must complete verification checks within 30 days of the request. If this is not met, your account status will change to Inactive, and payouts will be temporarily halted. If your account remains Inactive for 42 days, it will be suspended, and any available balance will be refunded to your customers.

Can I Use TWICE Payments as an Individual?

Although TWICE Payments is primarily for registered businesses, individual traders can also use it. Enter your details in the "Business Details" section using your Tax ID instead of a company registration number. For verification, upload an ID document rather than a business document.

Can I Use My Personal Bank Account for My Company Transactions?

You can use a personal bank account; however, the account name must match the business name provided in the "Business Details" section. If this is not possible, you should set up your account as an individual and/or consider using the "Doing Business As" setup.

Can a Person Have Multiple Decision-Maker Roles?

One person can fulfill multiple roles such as Owner, Controller, and Signatory. This flexibility simplifies the setup process for small businesses or sole proprietors.

How To Setup as a German GbR?

If you operate a GbR without a Handelsregisternummer:

  • Use your personal name as the legal business name.
  • Use your company's name in the "Doing Business As" field.
  • Enter your Steueridentifikationsnummer in the registration number field.
  • Upload a recent official document showing your name and Steuer-IDNr.

How To Setup as a UK Sole Trader?

If you operate as a sole trader in the UK:

  • Use your personal name as the legal business name.
  • Optionally, add your business name in the "Doing Business As" field.
  • Use your Unique Tax Reference (UTR) number as the company registration number.
  • Upload a document from HMRC or a recognized service showing your UTR.

Why Are My Payouts Blocked?

If your payouts are blocked:

  • Go to Account > Payments and click Complete Setup.
  • Complete any missing information and verify your details.
  • Once verified, your payouts will resume.

Why Is My Account Marked Inactive?

Contact our support team via the support chat if your account is marked inactive. Provide relevant details that might have led to this status. Our team will guide you through the steps to reactivate your account.
