Adding new articles to your fleet

Learn how to efficiently add and manage new inventory items in your Twice Commerce platform. This guide will walk you through creating inventory articles, ensuring accurate tracking and seamless integration into your rental or retail operations.

Creating New Articles

  1. Navigate to Inventory > Articles in your Twice Commerce Admin App
  2. Click Add Articles
  3. Select the appropriate SKU (or create a new SKU)
    • Choose the relevant SKU from the dropdown menu
    • If you haven't created the SKU yet, create it first through the SKU management section.
  4. Input the purchase date and price.
  5. Input article specifications
    • Specifications are custom fields defined by the user. Typical examples include:
      • Brand
      • Size
      • Model
      • Color
      • Condition
      • Serial number
  6. Set Article IDs. Choose between:
    • Auto-generated IDs: Enter the number of articles to create
    • Custom IDs: Manually input unique identifiers for each article
  7. Choose the allocation (rental/purchase) and number of items to be added. You have the following options to select how the article will be used:
    • Rental only
    • Purchase only
    • Both rental and purchase
  8. Click Add Articles to finish
Note: You can also create inventory articles through the Catalog section when creating catalog items.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions:

  • SKU not appearing: Ensure SKU is created first
  • Cannot save article: Check that all required fields are completed
  • Duplicate IDs: Verify unique identification for each article
